Has anyone used the datto 1600 reproduction door card vinyl sheets from the states with the patern pressed in them to look like the originals? If so are they any good?

surely you could find someone or them to press 4 door... i guess it just takes a bit of research to find out who does that kind of thing, give them something to work off, and away you go.
if you can cut costs by ordering multiple, organise a group buy on here prior to placing the order, get deposits... OR.... ebay FTMFW..

i personally wouldn't know where to start looking, but it will probably be REALLY obvious

from memory king trim made some up?

http://www.kingtrim.com.au/

I know we had a member in the SDC who also had his own plates made up, which did cost a bit and was hoping he could 'rent' them to make some back.

I'd recommend Davo. He does some pretty good work. Sure he'll probably have stuff to do it.

Gday guys i have just found this topic today. Basically i have been looking for a place or someone that can make reproduction door trims for the 1600 for a fair while now.

I heard that dave from king trim had some mad for a two door sedan. so i called him and asked if he could make some 4 door ones. Basically he said that the jigs/press' hasnt been made and that it couldnt be done without the press'

i know of a few people that have just used the 2 door jigs for a 4 door sedan. It can be done but the press is too long obviously for the 4 door and doesnt look 100% right.

So after doing a bit of research on how these trims are made, Myself and a mate from work have spend a fair amount of money and many hours getting these jigs made and correct.

I will have a set shortly so i can post photos and hopefully getting a group buy happening for people that are keen on some reproduction door trims.

So if anyone is interested please let me know as i might get a few sets made while mine are.

Cheers
Leigh

Send an email to the Sydney Datsun Club committee, or even try posting on datnet.

One of the members had a sample at the April meeting, looked very nice, but I can't remember who it was - someone else on the committee may remember
