Matey! Couldn't have jumped much more into the deep end than i sight unseen 200B.

I pray the rust isnt too bad in the bonnet.

Lets just say Saturday night i was out with the boys talking about cars / bikes (i own a few harleys)
talking crap about project cars etc ..
woke up sunday feeling sorry for myself all day felt like crap.. get into bed sunday night my phone goes off with " CONGRADULATIONS YOU WON THE AUCTION" i was like huh !! yeah and thats how i bought a 200b ...
spoke to old owner he said its been a country car all its life its solid with just a bit of surface rust near the left hand tail light... engine runs and she drives however could have a blown head gasket.. but i will be doing a conversion at some stage anyway.. he said its straight and hardley any rust...
it will be arriving next week so i will know more

Gold!

Time to start a build thread?
SR20DET bolts straight onto the 200B cross member (using SR20DET engine mounts!)

He's serious! Obviously a few other bits need to go with it, but the motor will slide straight in!

It's datsEz again .I was only able to do a brief intro as I was on the way to the hospital as my twin grand kids took a bad turn and we we're bringing my daughter more suplies for herself and my grand sons.My name is Richie and am semi retired.I learned to drive in a Datsun 1600 and also bought one as my first ride.I have previously had 4 of them and now my son got me a fairly straight one which I get in about a week. Its pretty good for its age and it hasn't been thrashed as it was an auto. The parts that come with it is fairly impressive An extra L 20 from an 200b sss ,Spare doors bumpers ,glass . bonnet/ hood at 5 speed ( unknown type) probably a dog leg. This won't be a fast build time and could take me 2 years. This is intended to be my final Build so I am putting every thing into it.I don't intend to spend much money but it's going to be a huge investment in time.I hope to do my own body work .upolstery and interior a fair bit of the machanicals too. I only want a fairly mild car with street ability.I built one years ago that pushed out 180+ HP and it was a pig in city traffic and chewed up fuel at about 15 miles per gallon.A mild build is ok though.

Hi, just realised you commented on my newbie post, sorry for the late reply

at this stage just going to get it all working as normal, always wanted twin carbies, extractors and nice exhaust but will stay with the n/a engine and may stay with stock internals, just would like a nice sound with a bit more throttle response

as for the outside this car is not in show room condition, over the years i have had a few cars with all the chrome and sleek paint jobs and am looking forward to just leaving this, may even go down the old patina paint angle, have thought of adding the japan flag to the bonnet in a brown, just a work in progress i suppose

Thanks for asking

Welcome and nice B! What is wrong with the motor? Have you got more plans for the engine? Rest of the car looks really nice!

Propably nothing big, ignition timing&carburettor adjustments etc, small things, at least i hope :)
I have twin carbs for that, but i have to rebuilt them. So at first, engine is going to be stock, mainly because it has automatic transmission(four door cruiser)...
