I'm in Mount Eliza. But very close to the border between there and Frankston South. I mainly specialise in 200Bs though. Good to see it's going back on the road.

Well i thought i needed to update a little. The car has been registered for a couple weeks now and the engine is proving very tired its fairlly smokey and we had decided to get a L18 and build that up but after finding a complete fj20et with box, ecu, loom, turbo, full gasket set and full new Datsport fit and handling kit in the trading post for a a few hundred more than the retail price for the kit it was decided to buy this instead.

I also purchased r31 skyline struts today leaving a high pressure pump, intercooler, surge tank and new turbo oil lines. Should go good with a few upgrades after its engineered.

Yeah dad originally wanted a sr20det 1600. I find the fj`s are a bit stronger built.
A customer in overseas has one with forged pistons, big dollar rods and oringed block and it nudges the 700hp(flywheel) mark.
Plans are for a gt2860rs turbo upgrade, ecu, injectors etc.
Then well see what its capable of.

 Sorry for the 2 year grave dig!!

I'm still alive. but more importantly, so is the 1600 :D
I'll get some photos up tonight when I get home.
I've got to fit stone tray, charcoal canister bracket, fix the seized r31 calipers on the rear and wheel alignment. Oh and I've got to fix niggly idle issues. Engineer is on call for Wednesday. Just hope Vicroads can fit me in between chrissy and new years.

Coming soon to a cruise near you!!!!!

Stu.

Cheers for the kind words!!
To be honest it will look a whole lot better when the car is repainted. The bay will look a bit different in time, looking at ecu upgrade, high mount GT30 and a cool looking steam pipe exhaust manifold.

Stu has done really well with this conversion. It fits in there nicely and has been done very neatly and to high standards. I can't wait to see this on the road.

Thanks Alistair!! I have done this right, so that it's reliable for dad to drive it almost daily. I/he haven't scrimped on much if I could justify the parts I got it. Like the "Race Raditators" rad was only marginally more expensive than purchasing and modding one off something else. I would highly highly recommend them very high quality part for reasonable money!

I can't wait to see it on the road and dads face after his first drive myself. It will enable me to enjoy a or even many ozdat cruises. Also let me get my corolla turbo'd too.

Update. I seemed to have fixed the idle issues. :woohoo: Some idiot who fitted the charcoal canister in a hurry had connected it up back to front(could be me ) Which gave it the symptoms of a big inlet leak. Fixed now though and idles nice and quiet with the restrictive exhaust on.

Had a bit more of a play with the beast today. I seem to have it almost perfect by ear, still waiting on auto elec to connect the tacho. So I can check idle speed and get timing perfect.

The rocket is booked in for it's first engineers inspection tomorrow. :woohoo:

I've left a few things to pick. Charcoal canister not mounted properly and needing a wheel alignment.
Not sure how the r31 brakes will fair, the front seem really spongy might need either a bleed or better pads.

Keep y'all posted on what he pics.

Stu.
