ok so i had the car running last weekend (29/8/09) and she drove really nice, lots of power and she boogies. only thing is the head gasket let go not to far from home so i parked it over night and when i came out the next morning there was heaps of coolant everywhere lol. so pulled the head off to find that the head bolts were no longer torqued up so i put it down to the head gasket crushed down when it was hotter and let go when i drove it out along the expressway when the head cooled down. anywho, im now going arp head studs and a better head gasket so all should be good again.

need to do some more work on the gauges as only the mechanical ones were working lol

ok so heads all back together and running. had a small problem with fuel leaking at the carby but that seems to be all fixed now but i will be putting a new top plate that i have put threaded fittings into at some point to make extra sure.

i have also started making up the strut brace but still need to make up the back section to make it a 3 point brace

had some problems with the alternator on friday where it wasnt charging then it was charging then it was charging too much (16V) so i replace the voltage regulator with one i got from andy (thanks mate) and it seems all good again

today the boys at jaustech automotive held a dyno day for "club psi" that i tagged along to.

and now i can happily say that my little engine conversion has produced a 83kw MACHINE! lol
first run saw 83kw at 9.2psi and the second run saw 78kw at 9.2psi.

ok so not alot of talking lately but thats because im afraid ... got defected for lowering blocks the other day and now i have to take it over the pits :( :( :( ... so thes past few days have consisted of, welding some rust up under the car, cutting and shutting the exhaust, remaking a gearbox mount because it has ripped one out of the floor, removing lowering blocks. now i still have to install high front springs, standard seats, standard steering wheel, an open diff centre and a set of legal tread wheels.

a set of good tread stockies would be good if any one can help out

because its a pre-1976 ute it doesnt need to be engineered as long as you use the standard engine ... all legit thats why i went this way and not CA or SR
