From all the searching i have done i really dont think the SX came out with a rear spoiler. I have heaps of sales photos and not one shows a rear spoiler.

That's what I initially thought as well. However, the pic of the white one was sent to me by a guy I got some parts from, he bought the car new and then it was written off about twenty years later. He said there were three avaliable (from his memory), and then afterwards I asked him to email me a photo.

I see what 200BSX says, they do look slightly different. My understanding is that there was the spoiler on the white car, a bobtail one, and possibly a three-piece spoiler. I have seen pictures of the bobtail spoiler off a car, but not of a the three-piece. I'm working on it though

I've seen an SX with a rear spoiler, and asked the guy about it, he said he'd had the car since '82 (it was a '79 model) and it had always had the spoiler.

Here is one i took with my mobile, im moving house today so ill be in work mode, once we are finished ill give her a buff and take some good shots.

Nice! I saw that one on carsales I think...and perhaps eBay. Looks good and if you crack your front spoiler, I have a fibreglass re-mould here that you are welcome to take a mould from.

Where in Western Sydney are you? I have a friend in Penrith with a 200B wagon, it's not on the road yet but if you need any spares he'll have some.

I thought i'd ask my dad about the 200Bs, he worked for Nissan in the 70's & 80's. The look of the SX was styled locally in Aust by Paul Beranger (most recently known for TRD Aurion & Hilux, but also SVD Skylines) and that grill was then used in all later 200Bs. The very early grills were aluminum & put together by hand. I don't recall any factory spoilers, but maybe they did a limited run or some dealer options. Apparently Nissan Aust wanted to make a number of changes/improvements to the Jap version early on but it always took ages to get approval for anything that required tooling alterations. The SX was probably the most Australianised of the 200B's.
