Funny how motivation goes up and down...

Metal guard with only the lip folded outwards... granted its a 45 profile tyre which is completely bald... But it should still easily clear it.

When compared to my glass guards:

Figure they must be smaller than original guards... "facepalm".

So my project for the next week or so is to spend some time working on these guards and then painting them with leftover paint 8)

Finally a full set of MkIIs on the car.

The wheels are 15x7 +12 on the front, 15x8 +12 rear.
The fronts need a 15mm spacer to clear the caliper which is a pain in the arse.

Looks better tonight with new 195/50 zetums for $50 each

Gotta take em back to metal, bog em up and paint.

I take it the bolts/nuts on the MKII's are whats clashing with the calipers? If so you can win back a bit of space by using hi tensile domed allan key bolts- but put the dome of the bolt to the inner rim with nut on the outside

to neaten up the outside you can use a dome nut

Pending the wheel can get you back 4 or 5mm

Thanks mate but nah it's not the bolts, the rim has a flat face on the inside, ie no step.
The caliper protrudes over the face of the hub and so fouls on the flat face of the rim. No way of getting around it other than using a spacer or getting new wheels... Cheers for the info though.

Chris

So it only takes 3 important tools, a jack handle, a hammer and a beer or two to come up with this:

Only going to need a light skim of filler to smooth it over...
Someone with a bit more skill than me surely wouldnt need any at all...

Gonna look swell

Thanks mate and yea I got the speedhunters update on Facebook with that car... Love it. Only problem is that you can never drive cars like that on Australian roads without a defect... Guards are in final primer, wet rub on Sunday. Gonna look the goods
