WHERE AM I UP TO!?!?!

Well, im sitting up here in Wollongong, for uni, living on campus, with no car, whilst my datto sits in the garage back home in Wagga Wagga (4hours away)
So basically i have a huge list of things to do for when i get home (about 3 weeks from now 14/6/08)
This list basically is:
- Mount engine for the last time and hook everything up (wiring, fuel, throttle cable etc.)
- Finish off dash wiring and hook everything up to the dash (incl running defi gauges)
- Finish the fuel system in the boot (surge tank, fuel tank, fuel pumps etc.)
- Run the wiring to the rear (lights, pumps, sensors, battery etc.)
- Hook up driveline (gearbox, driveshaft, clutch etc.)
- Fit interior (dash, seats, trim etc.)
- Then just everything else (radiator and fan, lights, body parts, etc. etc.)
Obviously this is very breif.. but you get the idea.

Then hopefully it will be right to start...

The car has come a very long way. I found the bare shell, sitting in a paddock/valley, no cover, just out in the weather, and i saw potential in it. It had minimal rust, unlike my donor car, so it provided a perfect base.
I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking. Enjoy.

SSR Formula Mesh
Fronts:
15"x7" +20 offset. About an inch and a half, to two inches of dish.
Coming from a guy up in Queensland. Took me ages to find a pair in +20 offset. They were usually in the minus's, or high positives.
Rears:
15"7.5" -5 offset. Two, nearly three inches of dish.
Coming from Japan, because they are way to expensive here in oz. Usually about $700 a pair :S

And some decent rubber to stretch over them, to avoid rubbing and to help out with clearances etc.

Love the colour, and the new weels look so good tucked under the rear guards. :D
Good luck with the rest of the build.

Are you saying the wheels are yet to come Chris? ie the wheels in the pic are just (a pretty decent) Photo-chop?

yeah i forgot to add that its a photochop.
Wheels are fake, windows are fake, door handles are fake, and so is the rear vent.
hahaha
the wheels are on their way. i thought i would just photoshop what i think it will look like. Wheels are a little too big. In the pic they are about 16", and should be 15" in real life..
the chopped pic didnt turn out too bad now that i think of it.. i jsut thought everyone would be able to pick it, so i didnt make a point of saying... lol
Heres a pic of the real rears that are coming along:

I was going to say about the pic, But didn't want to upset you :P.

The hole car looks the same as mine, Besides the shade of blue (its close in the full sun)
Datsport kit, PMLS unit etc, How did you find wiring it up with the unit? Im yet to fit mine.

haha you have good taste then :)
you got ssr's? or still the concept fives?
Wiring up the PLMS loom has been and still is the easiest thing i have done on my car. Top quality stuff, with instructions to match. All wires that need to be hooked up by you are clearly labelled, and the instructions tell you how to do it. They even show you and give you exact measurements of where to cut the hole in your firewall :)

So how are you going to fit -5's?? Buy my calcs they'll be well and truely flush with the outer lip of your guards - allowing very little travel. Or are you going to stretch 155's on there :P

in all honesty i was just gonna hope they did fit.. i did all the calcs i could think of, and pretty much came up with the same answer.
Flush with the guard. BUT, running camber, they tuck in a bit...
Plans were, get the rims, test fit with no shocks or springs, check clearances through travel, see if theres room for tyres, then hopefully i could put 185's or 195's on them and have them just fit...
Its kinda hard to get everything spot on when im 450km away from the poor girl... :(
