Nice re-spray mate, looks like its coming together nicely. Was good to meet you at the datnats this year, hopefully will see you out on the road soon!
What size dimensions are your skyline rims? 215/55 r16's?

Thanks for the comments mate. Was good to meet you too and check out another coupe. And good luck with the sale too.
.
The rims are standard R30 15" x 6", fiited with new'ish 205/50 Federals. Nothing too flash but I think they suit the car.
.
Have attached a couple pics of the coupe with most of the exterior now finished, just need to fit the badges etc. Still got some interior work to do then it should be just about done.
.
Thanks again and catch up again later.

Joe,

Your car is looking VERY nice. Well done. All that patience of yours is paying off. Hopefully go for a drive together someday. Plan for NDN 013 perhaps?

Great looking paint job. It looks so clean. I must admit i do prefer they earlier bumpers though.

Maybe i should get another car

Thanks for all the comments. Yes Scott, I do have the next NDN in my sights. Was speaking to a bloke at Goulburn who thought they might be at Winton. That's not too far from me, would be good to make a weekend of it. Do you think you'd come down for it?

Gotta agree with you Dato, it does look very clean as is. Seems almost a shame to clutter it up with mirrors and badges. Also agree with your thoughts on the earlier bumpers but, these ones are the factory fit and they're not too bad.

Another month or so and it should be just about done.

Thanks again, catch up later.

Just a few more pics. Car is pretty well complete now. Just have to play with the carby a little more to get it running better. Looking to register it early Sept. Once it's on the road I'll get a few more things done, like new exhaust, get the air/con working etc. Will maybe post some more when that happens. I'm hoping they let me keep the original plates which I suspect were fitted to the car when it was sold new here in Canberra.

it is coming along nicely. My attention had swayed away from my car recently but i think your fine example may bring it back.

Has been a little while now but the SSS is still going nicely. Have taken it on a few trips, been to a few car shows around Canberra and nearby.
Haven't really had to do much to the car but just recently, I thought I'd fit the original grill and light surrounds and also restored and fitted the original 14" steelies.
Just wanted to see how it looked in standard trim. Thinking that this is what it must have looked like, the day it drove out the showroom back in 79.
Anyhow, interested to hear any comments about the 'before' vs 'after'

Thanks for the comments. I tend to agree with you, the standard rims but with the later grill is the best look.
Thinking I might change it back and leave it that way.
Thanks again

Well, it's been almost another year. Haven't done too much in that time, other than to fit some new rims and get the factory air con working. Rims were some daggy old 15x7 Cheviots I picked up and restored by hand. I think they fit and look the best over my earlier choices. The tyres swapped over from my 15 inch TI rims so, the upgrade didn't cost much. Apart from maybe upgrading the sway bar/s, there's not much else I need to do, possibly a new clutch is on the horizon.

Talking about clutches for the SSS, can anyone tell me what the difference is between the SSS and 200B sedans? I know there some slight difference in the pressure plate dimensions , if anyone knows the details or the proper part number etc, I'd appreciate any advice.

Joe.
