That car is looking good Joe - it should be a lot more fun to drive with the manual gearbox and the SUs! Do you think you could get a photo of your front seats for me, please? I acquired a pair of front seats with another car, and from the small bit I can see of yours I think they might be 200B SSS seats :D

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Will keep you posted. And Green200B, I'll get those seat photos up for you shortly. Motor's all done now, however, I've just realised I put the dizzy drive shaft in 180 degrees back to front. Easy fix. Hopefully have the motor back in weekend after next. Will take a few more pics then.

I'm liking the colour on that as well, I take it that's not original? And is that red interior original? I've never seen a non-black standard dash on a 200B that was from the factory.
my wrecked coupe has red interrior like this but the dash is black

Hello again,
Was hoping to upload a few pics with the motor back in and also one of those red seats for Green200B, system wouldn't accept them. Will have to check with the moderators on that one.
Anyhow, the motor is back in, very simple 10 minute operation, just slid back onto the box. Gotta connect everything else back up now, hopefully have it running by end of Jan.
And regarding the red dash, the later series SSS coupes had the color coded interior whilst all earlier dashes were just black. I've got another later SSS here, a yellow one with the brown interior and a matching brown dash. From what I've seen, as far as the coupes go, there seems to be much more of the earlier ones out there which is why the coloured dashs aren't seen very often.
Well, will try again later to get some photos up. Catch you's then.

Thanks fellas for the positive comments. I think your car (MR200B) confirms my theory that the coupes look best in silver. Probably would have gone that way myself, if I was doing a complete resto. Figure the red interior would suit the silver exterior.
Anyway, as for my timelines, I'm hoping to have it painted by end of Feb, then just have to fit the interior and and all the trims etc. Should hopefully have it registered before mid year. Will post some pre and post paintjob pics.
Catch you's.

Well, it's been a while. Going by my last comments, I'm exactly one year behind schedule. Finally got the body all sorted and primed, painted in around doors, under bonnet/boot myself and then, took the SSS in for the paint job last Friday. Didn't trust myself to get a decent finish so, I organised a local repairer to do the exterior at a pretty decent price. The photos are of it just before I loaded it on the trailer. Picked it up this Monday and I'm pretty impressed with the end product. Painted it in a Toyota Maple Red which is fairly close to the original colour but better.
.
Anyhow, I'll park it out in the sun this weekend and splash a bit of fish oil about. Will also take some photos and post them up. Hoping to get it all back together and registered, in time for DatNats in nearby Goulburn at Easter.
.
Talk again soon.

Thanks for the comments guys.
.
Well, photos below as promised. Been doing bits and pieces, had to get the alloys on first thing. These photos make it look like it sits a bit high but on level ground, it's more like what I want. I now realise I was dreaming when thinking it will be finished and registered by Easter. Last thing I want to do is rush it. Have to get the hood lining card re-lined in the next week or so. Once that's back in, I can finish off the interior. Also started polishing all the stainless bits and pieces.
.
Maybe in about 4-6 weeks it should be nearing completion. I'll post up a few more photos in a fortnight or so.
.
Joe.

It's looking great Joe. The colour really suits the car. There is a nice sedan in Scotland painted in a similar colour. SO do you think you can crack the Easter deadline? You could make it to DatNats then :)
