Don't quote me here but didn't George Fury also drive the DR30 in the ATCC.

And the twin cam engine in the 160J/Violet GT is a LZ20B twin cam L series  . The precursor of the venerable FJ20

No worries Aaron.

The Nissan heritage collection website has a heap of info on Nissans cars. They also own all the cars on the website, most of them are kept at Nissans Zama storage facility, away from public eyes, but I believe they have plans to build a museum to put them in so people can get a look at them. They also have the 350z and GT-R concept cars there, though they arent on the website.

Heres a list of all the cars in the collection.

Where is Zama? In Japan? And the dream garage is in US right? The reason I ask is that I am going to Europe latter in the year. Are there any datsun/nissan mueseums/collections in Europe worth checking out? Can take some snaps and load em here. Best not to waste my trip looking at tourist things and ignoring the important attractions 8)

Massive thread dig, but ...

A question for the older blokes.

Does anyone know of any 180BSSS race cars racing in the ATCC/non-championship races in 1972?

Reason: I'm interested to find any evidence of a racing 180B before 31 Dec 1972, because if they raced before that date they're (theoretically) eligible for Historic Gp NC racing.

I know that John Roxburgh/Doug Whiteford raced one at Bathurst in 1973

... But Bathurst in 1972 saw a few 1200s and 1600s (according to Wiki):

Bill Evan: Datsun Racing Team 1200
Jon Leighton: Datsun Racing Team 1200
Bruce Stewart: WH Motors Pty Ltd Datsun 1200
Don Smith: WH Motors Pty Ltd Datsun 1200
Doug Grimson & Morrie Miller: Davidson Motors Datsun 1600
Ray Lintott: LC Giddings & Son Datsun 1200
Doug Whiteford: Datsun Racing Team Datsun 1200
Barry Tapsall: Datsun Racing Team Qld Datsun 1200

The ATCC dates for 1972 were as follows:
Symmons Plains 6 March
Calder Park Raceway 19 March
Bathurst 3 April
Sandown 16 April
Adelaide International Raceway 11 June
Warwick Farm 9 July
Surfers Paradise 22 July
Oran Park 6 August

If any older blokes out there have race programs of these or any other non-championship races in 1972 which show evidence of the 180B racing, I'm very interested.

Thanks!
