Hey all. Been a while!! Had a pile of stuff going on. Had a baby and been crazy busy with work and also doing some extensions at home so the Datto has been a little down the list of priorities. Anyway.... Back on track now. Car is booked in to get all the wiring done in a few weeks, which is a big task off my list!
I'm still tossing up on what turbo I should run. I'm pretty keen on getting some direction from all the FJ owners out there.
My options are:
TD05 18g
TD06 20g (had this on my S14a)
High flowed VG30

I'm conscious of the fact I wanna run the factory low mount manifold and space is an issue with fouling on the engine mount, so I'm not too confident that the bigger TD06 will fit hence the VG30 option.

Any thoughts and or experience with the above on an FJ would be appreciated!!

MTQ in Queensland do a garret gtx2860 with a t3 exhaust housing so would bolt straight onto your fj manifold without the need for an adaptor. Im going to get one for my z18 when funds allow.

Depends on what kind of end goal you want to achieve.
Stu's suggestion is a good one, because there is also the GTX2863, GTX2867 depending on your requirement.
Top end or mid range!

Def after some big mid range pull. Thats why I loved my TD06 20g so much because the mid range was epic.

Bought some new rims the other day off Yahoo Japan. Now have a 4 week wait!!
Anyway pretty stoked as these are exactly what I wanted. I will pull them apart clean them up and powdercoat the centre a different colour as the current colour will clash with the orange paint work.
They are genuine Volk Racing Mesh 15x7+5

So I was having a good look at the GT3067r unit. I cant seem to find too much info on this being used on an FJ?
Anyone have any experience with this turbo on an FJ?

If your on Facebook have a look at the FJ20 owners page lots of good info there on turbo selection. Doubt you could go a gt30 on the standard manifold as there would be clearance issues.

I'll have a look at that facebook page.
Yea I'm concerned about clearance with the engine mount.

The rims are in great Nic. There is a fair bit of oxidation on them which is fine as I'm sanding back and re-polishing.

Started the fun tSk of pulling them apart and beginning the sanding and restoration process.
All of the bolts came off no dramas apart from 3 bolts that are shagged.

Anyway.... First wheel is apart. Paint stripped the clear off and started with 400grit wet and dry and made my way up to 2000 grit.
After a good 2-3 hours of sanding the barrel is ready to be polished.

I'll keep working my way through each wheel.
Will post up some pics when I start the polishing process.

The centres are going to be sand blasted and them re-painted in a colour more suited to the sun burnt orange colour of the car.

Will keep the pics coming as I progress.
