The same as the "Photos of Datsun 510/1600 you like" I thought i'd start a thread about Datsun 1200,1000 and 120Y's that our members like.
Might be a bit of fun to see what's out there, and what sort of cars people would plaster on their garage wall...

PLEASE KEEP TO THE TOPIC (must be as the topic states!)
Photos do justice. Please explain why you like the car and any history if you know about it. Try and keep photos smaller than 640x480. Should be a bit of fun! Might also get the creative juices flowing on some Datsun owners!

I will start here...
Photo of the 'Spiekman' Datsun 1000 coupe. Made me want to go out and buy one as soon as I saw this until I realised how rare the damn things are  This photo was taken at the Datsun Nationals at Philip Island 2007!
Set some pretty good lap times too. Great engine bay with the A series motor in there

Found this one on the net somewhere, I love them B45s and the Paint Oh god that paint is sweet!

I think the second pic is an earlier one, you can tell by the colour of the grill and the front indicators.

That is TIDY as.
I've always wanted a 1200 coupe! (and a 1000 coupe, a 260Z, and a 2400 deluxe...)

thread revival! these are my favourite Datsun 1200s, but I might be slightly biased...

my old L18 1200 coupe:
1. Bathurst Speed Weekend 2003. Murray's Corner

2. 2003 QHC (QLD Hillclimb Championship) Mt Cotton, hairpin
[ img ]

And my current CA18DET 1200 coupe with 230rwkw. Doesn't handle quite as well as my old coupe, but its a helluva lot of fun to drive!

I think that both those cars are bloody fantastic! Top effort. That shot going around a corner in the blue/white/red sort of looks like a mini torana! (not that you can hold that against me!)

So why doesn't the CA18DET version handle worse than the other car? I assume power oversteer is the culprit!?

thanks. its just not setup as well as my old car. I bought the white one the way it is and am slowly getting around to a few setup changes.

the old red/white/blue one I built from the ground up, including the paint and panel work, engine build, suspension etc. only things I didn't do myself were the gearbox rebuild with 240Z gearset in a stumpy box, and the cage.

hope for your sake the standard diff is the BW not the H150, or it might not be keeping it for long! :)

btw, I saw a set of original pie tin 120Y hubcaps on ebay yesterday...

I have a 120Y coupe in the build atm too. planning to spend this long weekend of work on it to ge the body work finished and ready for respray in the original yellow/green colour. but it won't be a 'stocker' look once the 14*7.25" & 7.75" 3pce alloys to go under it...
