Hey all. I got an R200, and 260z (bigger than 240z) stub axles and want to stop buggering around with unis. I have at home a pair of CVs from a Z31, and a pair from some mytery vehicle, probably a DR30 skyline.
Obviously, I'm going through the hassle of the stub axles not matching, so I'm trying to decide how to go about this. I'm worried about the CVs binding.
Does anyone:
* Know of any CV/driveshaft specialists around Melbourne, preferebly south so I can get a quote on shortening the CVs I have? Then I can make an adapter plate and not worry about binding.
* Have any better ideas about doing this, without going overboard by doing 5-stud conversion, etc... Perhaps welding an 8 (or so) millimeter adaptor plate directly onto the 240Z stub axle?
* Know if MR30 skyline stub axles will fit in the 240z hub, if I use different bearings. Skyline stubs are kinda tapered, I get the impression that Z31 stubs are, as well. People talk about machining to fit Z31 stubs in 240Z hubs, (effort) perhaps the skyline ones are a bit smaller?
