Hey,
I have some saas seats i want to put into my 1600. I tried rigging it but them dont seem to sit well. SAAS has told me to buy there "adaptor" rail which would help. Has anyone ever put saas seats into a 1600 using an adaptor rail? Got pics? What kind of mods would i be looking at doing?
Cheers, Mike.

P.s - Sorry about the overload of questions/posts lately!

I just made up some adapters using plate steel. Cheap and easy. :D

Cheers,

Same as chris, just put some steel across the 1600 rails then drilled holes to line up with the bolt holes of the seat.

G'day,

I had a look at the SAAS seat 'fitting kit' a while back when I bought my seats. The kit to suit a 1600 was just a couple of bits of plate steel, a few bolts, washers and nuts... Definitely not worth the $33 per seat that Autobarn were asking. Still have to mount my seats, hopefully it's as straight forward as the other guys have found.

Cheers, Ben

G'day, just wondering how you guys went fitting your SAAS seats?
i'm looking at getting some at the moment, second hand so not sure of the model, but was wondering how wide yours were at the widest point?
the ones im looking at are approx 520mm at their widest point.
thanks,
dave

If the saas seats have a flat bottom i.e. the runners on either side are at the same level, then its a piece of piss to fit them.

Sorry dave I dont have pics, but I mounted my autotechnica seats in my 180b, by just pulling the standard 180b rail apart, and redrilling one hole on either runner to suit the seat holes.

I had to make the track a little narrower so 2 new holes needed to be drilled each side of the car in the floor (one side should still bolt up depending).

If you have standard 1600 rails, its really easy. Should of taken some pics when I was doing mine.....

Thats all I did. Just elongate the holes slightly on the original 1600 mounts. Shorten the wire for the forward/backward adjustment, redrill couple of holes. Took about 1/2 hour to do one seat. This is only photo. seats not in anymore.
