G'day all,

I've been thinking about swapping the 3 speed auto (ewww) in my 1976 330 series 260c sedan for a (hopefully 5 speed) manual, but I have no idea what bits I need.

I'm hoping that any 5 speed from an L motor will fit and I can use my current driveshaft and crossmember without modification... wishful thinking?

Crossmember isn't too much of an issue because I can fab something up, and similarly the pedal assembly I think will have to be 260c specific or custom made, but I'm hoping I don't have to touch the driveshaft.

Does anyone know about these 330 260c's?

Cheers,
Andrew

When I did one on my 200B I needed the following parts:

- manual clutch and brake pedal
- clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and hydraulic line
- manual flywheel and clutch
- manual gearbox with clutch fork, bearing and gear lever
- manual tailshaft

The tailshafts were different lengths between auto and manual so I had to use the manual one. The gearbox crossmember also bolted up in a slightly different spot so I had to modify my gearbox crossmember so that it would fit. I helped do a manual conversion on an R30 Skyline years later, and this was exactly the same regarding the tailshaft and gearbox crossmember. Based on this I believe that it would be the same for a 260C unfortunately! In saying that if you have basic fabrication skills and a welder it's nothing that you couldn't get sorted in a couple of hours.

So i recently converted (With plenty of assistance from Friends) my 200B from Auto to Manual.
And i know this to be the same for 240K's

If you get the correct sized Gearbox - Stumpy or Long you can use the original tail shaft.
Minor modification to the Auto Crossmember in the 200B got the Box in.

Buy this Kit - for the Master, Slave & Line (it works for 200B/1600 & 240k)
http://www.datsport.com/hydraulic-clutc ... e-kit.html

Datsport should be able to advise if it will fit your car.

This Wiki for a 1200 is super helpful

Nissan still stock the Pilot Bearing for the L Series (Actually they still stock heaps of bits

Not sure what auto the 260c's use but if it's a 3N71B as in the 240k's be aware that these are in demand from mazda drag racers. I know it sounds funny but I recently sold one in Brisbane for Melbourne.

Same as the 3sp Auto Bluebird gearbox's.
FYI when they are rebuilt with Paul Kees internals and a C4 input shaft, they become incredibly light and compact,
yet damn near bullet proof - especially for the rotary guys.
