I'm a bit confused by the fuel lines from the standard 1600 fuel tank (car came without a tank so I can't copy what was there).
I see from other threads that the standard fuel supply line is 6mm and the return line is 8mm.
Does this mean the lower bottom outlet on the tank (which is smaller) is the fuel supply line and the higher (and bigger) outlet is the return line?
When I put petrol in the tank and remove the fuel lines from the outlets, petrol comes out from the top (bigger) outlet and not the bottom outlet. I would have thought it would be the other way around. I'm hooking up twin Webers and am not using the return line.
So is the bottom smaller outlet on the tank the 6mm fuel supply line?

Yep. The bottom one is the pickup from memory. The one on top is blocked off from factory. They didn't actually use it as a return line from my knowledge. Someone else might be able to confirm this, but the mechanical pump and standard datsun fuel line is 1/4" or 6mm rough conversion.
