Hi everyone

I've been an avid reader of this forum since owning my first 1600 couple years ago. love watching everyone's build progress and tech tips and tricks.

Having kids, wife and a house doesn't leave much cash or if anything for the poor datto. brought this 1600 a week ago getting it ready to strip to bare metal. Very slow and painful progress finding time to work on her.

she was last registered in 2001 been garaged ever since, so very little rust(so i thought) and quite a lot of shopping dents. last owner was getting it ready for rally, luckily he didn't get very far and only rot in his garage for 14 years.

Talked to Baz from Datsport aweome to talk to and very helpful. be spending most my money there if I cant do it myself.

Looking for a compressor and good Mig welder, probably get a cheap 12cfm for spraying and small amount of sandblasting and Lincoln 180c.

Thanks sr20datsun going to be fun slowly working on her in my spare time
Nar mate going with the boring sr20det. Been driving old sigmas and corollas since I was 16 and as much as I love the sound of set of carbs at full throttle I'm well over due for a turbo car.

Welcome mate! Best thing to do is enjoy the process of biulding it up. Even if it takes longer than you first envisaged (it usually does).

Looks like a good solid shell which is the most important thing with these cars.
I'm in the same boat as you 3 kids, mrs, house that we are pouring money into with renos, the datto get a spare dollar or 2 thrown at it when I can.

Keep plugging away

Cheers mate. Rather spend couple extra dollars on a good shell then skimp and get a rust shell to spend the $$$ on repairs
Some Amateur panel beating today I'll have to buy welder and compressor in the next couple weeks.
