Hey guys
Got myself a 450x300x76 cooler to mount in the front of my 1600. I ordered one with 2.5" outlets but they only had 3" in stock so that's what I'm going with. My main query, what are you running of the outlets to get the piles within the chassis tail. 90 degree silicone, custom bends?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Not much room to play with up front.

Thanks

What radiator are you running? That will help decide what type of bend you want to use.

Personally I'd recommend selling your current IC, and buying a 400x300x76 with 2.5 inch outlets.

Then If the radiator is not to wide, I'd recommend going some of the tight cast 2.5 inch bends like these and get them welded on -> http://www.ebay.com.au.au/itm/2-5-Inch- ... 3a6bef3764

When you get them welded, you may choose to first cut off the outlet part of the IC (Where you would clamp a silicone on) if you don't need them or if the radiator width allows them to be removed to reduce cutting.

I ran one of these off the throttle body to IC pipe to allow for some engine movement (hump bend)

Lastly, I would keep your IC pipe work at 2inch on the turbo side, the internet experts may be in an uproar about this, but my friend runs a 2 inch IC pipe on the turbo side to the intercooler on his 300rwkw fj20 1600 will no ill effect. Makes sense from a room perspective.

Bead rolling the ends of your IC pipes is almost a must, just take them to a fab shop and they should bead roll them for very little money, will add good strength around the areas you will be clamping.

What this guy said ^ x11ty.
I run 2" dia as Bozo510, from the turbo to the intercooler and step up to 2.5" to a 90degree silicon which steps up to 3". Reverse on the other side.
The 2" maintains gas speed into your intercooler.

How wide is your cooler sr20datsun? I have 2 3"-2.5" 90 silicone bends. But with them fitted, don't think it's going to fit between the chassis rails.
Thanks for the info bozo510. I'll look into some of those bends

My intercooler is 450x300x75
Overall size is close to 600 wide. I used 90deg bends with 3" down to 2.5" It all fit around a BMW 7 series radiator and I had minimal cutting out of the front of the sheet metal where the factory OEM radiator used to sit.
