First this is my 200b story. I bought the car back in 2006, one owner all stock. And was my only car for a few years. It all started with a 32/36 weber, mags and new disks and pads. Move onto the clutch, bluebird diff, su carbys, 5 speed, cd player and a sports wheel. Then I changed my view chopped the springs got dark tint and started to strip some of the interior out. This go me defected and wasent such a bad thing. As It showed me that it was the wrong direction for the car. So I fixed the suspension put the inside back together gave it a tidy up and passed first go when I got the defect off. It was meant to be a weekend car after this but things changed and I only had enough room for 1 car and you can guess what it was.
Next was the exhaust, 2" with luky mufflers. 40mm dellorto's, 4 wheel disks, ssr wheels and bigger sway bars. But while I was doing this, some rust started to come out I had some personal things going on. So I ended up doing a dummyspit with it put it down the back and moved on. The first 2 cars I got dident want this to happen and keep breaking so I would end up having to drive the datto again. This lead to me losing interest in cars for a bit. Untill I swapped my bmw (with a blown trans) for a micra. And dam this car was boring but relieable. Then one day the bug bit again. I was only going to fix a couple of bits and pieces on my micra then the next thing I had made it a very mild hot hatch.
So I pulled the datsun out and have started fixing the rust with bog yer yer it's better than rust. I wasent to sure want my goal was I just had to do somthing. I was looking at selling it to help fund a new car. But it's probly only worth 2g and after having it so long and doing heaps to it I just cant. So because it's mechanicly a1 and not a bad set up but the body is now a bit ruff i'm going to fix/change some stuff join my local car club and use it for race/rally.

Sounds similar to me. I always come back to the datsun. Although I a few others to distract me. Not sure how better bog is than rust but it looks better!

Yer there's somthing about datsuns. It's actually fiberglass filler, but i'm not sure if thats any better. Just dont want it to rust anymore. I havent taken many pics just got into it. The first is a pic after i pulled it out and gave her a clean up.

I started on the rear first poking at it to find out how much was there.

From here i ground off any loose bit's, wire wheeled it, rust treated any bare metal, fibergalss filler, bog to smooth out bits, primer and finaly paint. It's not the right colour as i had no luck trying to paint a guard with the factory paint and by far not a professional job but better than it was.

I have also done the rear quarters the same way. Got some good door's, rust treated the inside and am looking at new seals. Then it will be the bonnet as it has decent rust on the frame, so probly new bonnet time. Fit my autometer water temp/oil press/volt gauges and get some 14inch wheels with some cheap normal road tyres.
Also going to go and watch a local rally meet see how it's run an find out if my cars needs anything else.

Picked up some toyota ae92 levin/trueno seats that are black and grey so sort off match the factory interior and are a bit better than the factory 200b bucket seats. Just sorting out the rails.
Also fitted my aspen grill and cleaned/resealed the parkers.
