HI everyone sorry to crap on in advance forgive me i'm just excited as (the journey now begins). Hooked on the dattos now love em. Worked as a mechanic for ten years between 98 to 2008 but never worked on a datsun till I was given my first datsun (120Y sedan) from a mate who was just going to scrap it earlier on this year. Done lots of research into what people are doing to the 120Y but have now decided to get a stanza pa-10 as the leaf spring ass end in 120y just don't cut it for me for what i want. I'm wanting to build the car for street drift and drag so its going to be a complete overhaul, as the pa-10 i'v now bought is stock as a rock L16 engine manual single spinner 13 inch rims registered to one lady owner its entire life. Just asking anyone out there with knowledge of stanzas what mods can be done i'm looking to build a car with strong disc brakes front and rear improved steering and suspension front and rear and and a strong set of running gear five speed or 6 speed gear box? LSD live axle that will both hold up against a high powered turbo charged engine still have not decided on an engine as yet due to so many choices available have been leaning towards a sr20det or sr20de and build it to take a turbo charger at some point any feedback on cost for this or suggestions from someone more in the know or had previous experience would be much appreciated. I'm open to suggestions Cheers guys and girls. look forward to hearing from what you think. :)

Baz if hes around has heaps of stanza knowledge and pqrts through his shop.
He loves stanzas.

Personally I upgraded to a stanza but only for the wheelbase and stock l series engine bay conpared to my l series 1200 I had help build.

The leaf spring 120y can handle fine. Thr stanza is slightly better buy a compromise over full irs. Not that you wabt thqt in drag racing.
Sr20 will fit a few builds here in progress.
Personally I don't think they are suited to drag or drift. Rally and curcuit is their thing.

Hey mate the Stanza is a good choice for a bit of fun. I used to have one with a turbo FJ20, shortened BW 28-spline LSD rear end, some sway bars, S12 struts with S15 brakes up front.

They handle nicely and have a really light nimble feeling to them. The sr20 conversion is a virtual bolt-in job, maybe a gearbox x-member mod needed only. Converting the rear end, if you're willing to move mounts and perhaps cut down a housing and axles the possibilites are endless but something proven and easily available like a R31 BW78, Hilux or H190 (H190 could be done without cutting down).

Up front any of the strut conversions popular on 510's etc will be possible, R31, 240k, S12 etc. with nissan 4-pots, Hilux/Verada, commodore/verada etc. I made some coilovers using a sleeve Kit and r31 struts for my 200b and put s15 4-pots and rotors on s12 hubs, they seemed the way to go as they are short with plenty of travel.

Try R31 Pintara (23mm) or Skyline (25mm) front sway bars... they should be a very close fit, I have a 25mm one bolted into my 200b. In the rear i ran a whiteline sway bar but they are NLA... if you can get a SSS stanza rear bar that will work nicely. The Bluebird H190 has a rear sway between the trailing arms which you can double-up for drifting if that's your game.
