I haven't had her out as yet still sorting out minor issue with the front end. I am hoping to get a friday practice in before xmas.
I have been following you build, love the z18 option nearly went down that path myself. I once had a really clean stanza sss with a Z18 with motec head work and big cooler. Had to sell the car to buy my house.
Have you ever weighed you 120y? would be interested to know the weight with you mods.
Your mates name isn't Joe or barry by any chance is it?
Cheers, Danny

Hi Stu, It was great to meet you and your friend with the 1200. I hope it wasn't anything serious with your car.
Its a shame you left so early i wanted discuss some handling issues with you.
I had a great day thanks, not bad for the first time out in over 10 years.
I had some trouble with the brakes, the pedal was way too hard running no booster and a 15/16 master.
I have since gone down to a 13/16 from a silvia so should be able to lock the brakes now.
I was very rusty and started around 1.58 at the end of the day i did a 1.47.
I am going up with Friday 27th hopefully with another 120y sr20det which does mid 30s. Apparently the car used to belong to Adam Macrow.
If your free it would be great to catch up again and get 3 of us on the track.
I weighed my car before the meet with 1/4 tank of fuel and it was 935 kg.
Cheers, Danny

No nothing too serious just sprang a coolant leak that I was unable to fix trackside. 1.47 is a quick time so far mate best ive done is a 1.47 too when the car was on gas so hoping for low 1.40's on e85 and more track time. Would love to come back on the 27th but I think my racing will be over for this year just got a lot coming up over the next few months.

I understand about lack of time I have 2 kids and not much time for cars these days.
I will keep you posted on my lap times if I get some improvement.
Are you a car club member?

I was in piarc but i think i will sign up to benalla
Auto club soon. Winton is good for car setup
and safety till i get used to the car.
I can recommend brown Davis for a cage
they are a bit pricy but they do a great job.
My plan is to do a six hour one day, would be
good to form a 120y team.
Cheers, Danny

Hi, Stu went to Winton Friday and did a
1.44.5 and had a great time. I still have
issues with the brakes which we think is
brake pad knock off causing the pedal height
to change after cornering hard.
I too have a borg warner with r32 callipers, I think one is slightly
twisted on the mounting bracket. I had to
Pump the pedal on the straights which was
a little dodgy.
I was hitting the rev limiter on several corners may have
to look at changing diff ratio.
I am also going to remove the
gearbox as I have an oil leak around the shifter.
Cheers Danny

Thats good its going back together so soon rusty studs in Z18 heads are a bugger to get out.
Can you tell me Stu is your diff assembly out of an r31 skyline or something else?. The reason i ask is that you have R31 rear callipers and Im interested to know if R31 brake calliper mounting brackets will bolt onto older style borg warner diffs like mine.
I have seen them on ebay at times and would like to piss off the welded on brackets that are causing me braking issues.
Being a Z18 i am sure the torque curve is completely different to my car but i am curious as to what sort of revs you are pulling on the two corners after the sweeper and on the two corners on the new section of the track?
Cheers, Danny
