Im looking at using my A1200 engine with an auto in the van. Have heard some negative comments about the auto box, but no specific detail.
Anyone know why they are regarded badly?

I dont think that its a particularly bad transmission, but with small h/p engines the auto sucks valuable h/p from an engine that can't spear any. if it had a turbo now that would be another story.
also some people tend not to like them as it can take away from the driving experience
