 Post subject: Steering indicator stick

Hi I was wondering if the indicator stick is normally loose feeling? Like u can move it about an inch or 2 till it actually activates and it flops around?

This is a result of years of use.
Normally the stalk is held tightly in the mechanism.
You may be able to rectify it by forcing some 2 pack epoxy or Quicksteel into the hole to tighten it up.

Time for a new indicator.
If yours is an early model with a non collapsible column there have been new after market indicators up for sale on Ebay lately:
