Hi,

I have a set of good condition stanza struts sitting around from a 1979 stanza.

Is this a simple change over into a Datsun 1600

***Also are 180b and 200b struts the same as stanza?

Cheers for your help

180b and 200b are different, stanza uses small coils and 180b/200b user larger diameter units. heights and brake sizes differ too.

personaly i wouldnt put stanza struts into the 1600,i would sell em to the 120y/1200 guys and fit the bigger 200b or 240k struts

so what sort of problems do you need to overcome to make 200b struts work in a 1600? bump steer spacers? what sort offset will then be required on the wheels, standard? does the camber change? i been researching this as well but cant find a definative answer. im leaning towards r31 gear all round, people mention 240k, 280z, or s12 struts as a good upgrade also. im guessing it comes down to ride height and which brakes you want to run. For a mild L20 street car lowered 30-40mm what struts/brakes and springs. im sure this has been covered many times in the past but as mentioned i cant seem to find the info anywhere. i find the search function doesnt want to co operate with me!

i know where there is a complete 200b with hurricane looking wheels, SSS wheels i think? could probley get it real cheap. what other bits can be robbed from the 200b that would help upgrade a 1600? i was thinking maybe i could use the steering column including blinker/headlight stalks etc? sorry for the hijack but im hopefully accquiring a couple of early 1600s soonish and have a million ideas brewing.

Late stanza & 200B struts are the same as we are concerned.
We shorten all our struts these days as with firmer spring rates & dampers the ride height
need adjusting. Some ideas.

Agree with Baz, all the aussie built girlock caliper struts are virtually the same, 200b and Stanza. I've also owned both.

Only the coupes and very early imported 200b sedans with sumitomo calipers were different (better).

180b different again
