 Post subject: Datsun 1600 speedo cable

Will a Datsun 1600 speedo cable fit a l18 5 speed gear box. Or will a l18 speedo cable fit 1600 cluster?

I reckon they will interchange as far as the fittings each end are concerned.
There might be a difference in length re 4 and 5 speed.

Until recently, I was running a 1600 speedo cable with a 180B SSS 5 speed in a 1600.

Worked a treat :thumbsup:

all have same connection/thread on the box through the Lseries. Auto, 4spd and 5 speed are the same.just the dash connectors change on 200b and bluebird from the 1600 180b 240k screw on type.The lengths differ a little too.
1600 cables are longer as the 4spd output is on passenger side of vehicle

Just had a look under mine it's a 5 speed but the cable is on the passager side. Doesn't bother me just wondering wat box I have? Still a 180b?
