I'm very impressed by the steering aspect of this conversion... if successful I think this is a great one-hit upgrade of brakes, column and rack... would you be comfortable with others applying your bracket designs?
Keep up the great work.
Peter.
I have no problem if anybody copies how i have done the steering/brakes etc. Thats what the internet is for. A large amount of how i figured out the steering was from searching the net and combining a lot of other peoples ideas into 1.
However - Dont go straight out and do what i have done just yet. Now that i have got this far with the steering and front hubs, i have figured out some ways it could be better, simpler, and possiby cheaper. Im busy with work for a while but in maybe 3 weeks i should have some time to try my ideas and post a few pics.
Also, while i was at the wreckers looking at steering boxes and suspension, i think i have come up with a way to move/modify the stock steering box to allow a v8, not a nissan, but a lexus at least
Just as a side thought, are you going to be able to road register this thing?
I think those figures are current, however its QLD and as long as you find a guy willing to do the modplate you will be sweet. Its illegal to have a 13b turbo in an rx3 however guys are still getting them plated.[/quote]
I have spoken to a guy that seems keen to do it provided it is all done correctly and safely. fingers crossed...
Plan B is a bit devious, but will work
Plan C is to drive it anyway, then just take it back to NZ where it will go through a cert no worries
