Hi Guys

What is the recommended RPM a B310(210) with AC On ?
as i know Usually it can idle somewhere around 750rpm But when the AC is on it will not idle on that particuler RPM, do i need to set RPM to a higher level so it always runs faster rpm even i don't AC on or is there any component that can increase engine RPM while AC is on ?
if so what is it called and what is the cost of it ?

thanks
regards
sumith

cars with a/c normally have an "idle up switch/solenoid" for when the a/c is switched on.

I have a circuit diagram for a B310 Air Con. I can scan in and upload if you wish. What Red510 said is correct and the circuit diagram shows a solenoid in parrallel with the Compressors magnetic clutch. Most likely the solenoid is for the fast idle however it doesn't specify. I also have other Datsun AC circuit diagrams including series 2 bluebird and 200B (from a genuine service manual) which may help.

I have a factory circuit diagram (in a gregorys workshop manual) I also have an aftermarket system that I am currently fitting to my B310 it has a circuit diagram printed on the evaporator housing (I only have the interior componenets as that was all that was left in the car that it came from) which I am yet to have a look at. The gregorys manuals don't give descriptions on solenoid function. I'm not sure if I'll be fitting one to mine because I'll have to make it from scratch because I'm running a side draft weber and also my idle ends up being rather high once the car is warmed up due to my weber not having a choke.
To see what one of these solenoids look like I would find a Datto of the same era, (alot of the L6 engined cars have them) that has aircon and see how they are set up. I know of an old 240k that has A/C I'll have a look when I can and take photos.
I'll upload the circuit diagrams when I get a chance
