I have transferred my old 4 pin combi switch over from old car to new and now I cant seem to operate the indicators my sparky has pulled it all apart and seem to think the indicators run from a 6 pin plug behind the dash BUT the curent connection operates the high/low beam correctly ! My indicators seem to have TWO flashers rather than one i think the car is a 1970 model. I have seen that 6 pin combi switches are available but i figured i would use one or the other not BOTH !! :?

Anybody able to shed some light on this problem?? I have searched and found nothing on this issue exactly..

Thanks

The two flasher cans are for indicators and HAZARD flashers.
If you don't have a HAZARD switch then the indicators will not function.
They require a path through the hazard switch to function.

I have a scan of the P510 Wiring Schematic [Oz delivered] which shows the two cans and required wiring for the hazard switch.
If you don't fit a hazard switch then you need to link terminals 4 & 5 together, the two green wires on the the 5 pin hazard switch plug.
From Factory, mine had a little wire link inserted in that plug.
If you want a copy of the schematic, email me and I'll send it to you.
It is a 2.3Mb hi res. scan
