Does it still work regarding the use of the key (do you have the key for it?) or doesn't it work?

Try putting the key in the hole and pull the knob with the key in it, the pins/wafers of the lock might be holding it in.

Or take it to a locksmith with about 25 years under their belt

Yeah I have a key and have tried all that. Don't need to remove it any more so I'm not concerned about it haha
