I have recently bought and just lined my roof with these Wurth sheets, so easy to install and has really made a huge difference to the solidness if the roof now, it's a nice thud when you knock on the roof as opposed to the tinny sound it used to make.

$50 per pack, I used 4 of the 6 sheets so far for half the roof.

Can get it cheaper if I buy 10 or more packs

there's also a product called RESOMAT. usually advertsied in street machine magazine. anyone used that?

i'll definitely be using a soundener of some sort. Floor, roof, boot. dont know about using it on doors tho, may not be thin enough to allow door trim to slide under top plate without buldging out?

I spoke to my Motor Trimmer and he said that on 1600's he's only ever used the 12mm Jute felt glued on with quick grip. Told me to load up a spray gun and hammer the roof with that and then stick up the strips of the jute felt leaving 40mm gap around the bars. So that what I did :) Guess everyone is different though.

Has anyone had any luck putting sound deadening between interior door panels and the door shell ??

Do the window winders poke out far enough to allow the handle to be clipped back on ok ??

I'm guessing the 11mm thick stuff is too thick ..

I stuck a 3mm aluminium backed butyl rubber type sound proofing thing on the outer door skin of my 16. After I scraped off the old sound deadener on the doors and properly treated the rust. I found that it gave the doors a VERY solid and definitive "thud" when closing. Had no problems with window winders.

If you have the door trims on the inner panel, then there is relatively no point. As that will be heavy enough to keep that panel solid. That isn't the part that is going to reverberate the sound either. Most of the sound absorption will be taken up by the timber panel, foam and solidness of it on the door.

If you're really worried... glue some 6mm heavy duty foam to the inside then put you door trim back on. However. When i was younger I did this. It made absolutely no difference and wasted 20min of my life i'll never get back.
