hi dat lovers.

well i should be getting my sr20det on the weekend. i just want to know where the computer needs to go and where the wiring needs to go. ie does the computer need to go in the cabin? if so where does the loom go through the fire wall? any other info would be great ie fuel plumbing bigger lines? radiator plumbing. battery tray removal. ?????

is it as easy as hooking up the battery plumbing the radiator the ignition the fuel?? obviously the motor will have been run ie its not broken and would be in the engine bay.

its alot of questions

The ecu definately needs to be in the cabin, usually against the LHS footwell panel.
Wiring loom will need a new hole cut in the firewall once again high up on the LHS into the engine bay.
The fuel lines need to be under floor and say 8mm supply diam with 6mm return diam.
The battery can stay in the engine bay if you wish, there will be enough room for it.
It is your choice whether you shift it to the boot and clean up the engine bay where it was.
The radiator is again your choice, but make sure it is efficient and suited to a 2L turbo engine as is the intercooler.
Don't be in an all fired rush, spend some time getting good quality electrics, mechanics and plumbing organized and keep it neat.
You never know, you might have to work on it from time to time and the last thing you want is iffy connectors and dodgy plumbing

For the small amount of effort to put the battery in the boot, I would be doing it, especially if you are spending the dollars on a sr20 conversion. I can take some pics if you like since I just did it on my 180b.

Easiest way to mount the computer, you have a couple of options;

1. Get a parcel tray from a 180b and install it (very simple and cheap)

2. Bolt it to the bottom of your dash

3. Use Nissanman's idea and just bolt it to the kick panel in the cabin passenger side.

4. Cut a hole in the back of your glovebox and sit the computer straight in there.

You really need to find someone who has done the conversion to get some short cuts with regards to radiator, hoses, and the little stuff you forget..

I can give some shortcuts on a fj20 conversion in a 180b and Z18 into 1600 but thats about it....

parcel tray????? will the wires for the computer reach that far?????

i think the front pass kick panel is the go.

battery is that bigger deal if it just for looks....

need to get it on the road legaly and then pretty it up.

i just put in an sr N/A

i assume there aint much diffrence between the two (wiring anyways)

my computer sits under the dash passenger side.
best place for it i recon

just welded up a tray that sits about 2 1/2 inches down and coverd it in bent up aluminium covered in vinyl, looks almost factory.

it all fits in there really well. also have 4 relays in there and two fuse boxes.
i recon if it goes in the kick panel area you just loose two much room

my opinion
hope this helps

i might be able to get pics soon if you want

main reason to move the battery to the boot is for wieght distribution.....and then for looks.

I'd say godzilladat actually meant the tray that hangs under your glovebox....not the REAR parcel tray.....and with my CA wiring ( I have the ECU mounted against LHS kick panel up high....don't loose much room at all....but have a fair bit of excess wiring that I will tuck up away somewhere soon.

Hi all.Just my 2 cents but im putting a sr20det into my 1600 now and battery in the boot gives more room and easier plumbing aswell as for fuses ect. fuel pump relays in boot starter and fuse box in engine bay. Thats just how im doing things. As for cooling systems thermo fans go a long way.
