Hello everyone I have just brought my first Datsun 1200 coupe and am going to start the restoration and mods.

The car is a stock 1200 coupe it has been lightly restored in the past but now needs the big one. The plan is to strip and blast the whole car and replace as much as possible rather than patch repair. The colour I would like is a blue/purple. The idea is to turn it into a new looking car with most of the underside powder coated not sure if I am going to use an A15/A14 engine or give into the dark side and go the ca18det route. The car is only a play thing so won’t be geared up for full racing or drag. A bit of an all rounder but a full on drivers car. The inside will be completely retrimed but using the original designs with modern materials. This isn't the first restoration I have done it’s actually the 5th but I no longer own any of the cars.
