Straight LPG A15?

That would make a cheap daily if nothing else!

I've started to like to look of 1200s recently, they're a cool little car. And very light too!

Very tidy little car. What sort of economy do you get from it on LPG?

its a twin su set up with twin lpg mixers... gets about 300km from 49lt lpg with a rough tune. needs more fine tunning for more economy.

wanted power from lpg rather than economy. thats just a bonus with petrol prices.

made more power on lean and rough crap tune than it did on petrol with rough rich tune by 1.5kw

1.5kw you'd notice in a car that size! And I'm not trying to be rude!

So can you make any carbie run with gas? I'm not a fan of the stuff after my Ford but others I know may be...

wow 4 years and whats the same.... only lpg

whats been done.... mmmmm

L16 conversion in 2008/9
5 speed dogleg now r30 stumpy
koin front shocks, sumitomo front calipers cross drilled rotors
bw68 rear diff still single spinner(dman no lsds)
bolt in rear half cage(only for events currently)
heaps of other stuff
engineered.

got some ex for ford avons for hill climbs, seat and a harness to lock me in. (need to fit harness soon)

and getting ready for more hillclimb days. cams ls2 licence coming in the mail. so hill climbs await once i have entrance $$$$.
really want to try christmas hills and then back to haunted hills this year

next on the list of mods are some sumi 4 spot calipers and matching. slotted/crossdrilled rotors. some newer brakelines, possibly a bigger master cyl. 13/16 from a sunny should do. modified electric dizzy waiting (locked mechanical advance to maximum 15deg advance, not vac advance) also a new plenum style lpg manifold. was going to change to an impco system but unless i turbo no real gain.

Not wanting.old tin to out do me

Fitted 3 core cut down hq rad I got off a 1200.com member. Works great so far. Let's see in summer.
Fitted harness even with the Subaru seats amazing how it holds you in to concentrate on driving more.

Also plenum modded to fit but going to do a pre and post dyno on same day in Ballarat to measure gains. Will fit dizzy at same time hopefully.

No turbo tin can :-P

Rad fitted

Plenum with my fave trumpets! Also the recessed ends so hose clamps don't pop off are great!
The radiused ends on runners almost butt up so support weight of the plenum on the runners.
Simon did a work of art on it compared to what I got..

Sweeeeeeeet!
Are you running a brake booster? Have you had the chance to get it dyno'd and/or check the mixtures through the rev range?
Really like the photos. Please keep 'em coming!

As for compensating nah, its got inches on me :-P

Got sick of watching temps increase in traffic too quick in above 30deg days. Lpg makes the thing run hotter than petrol

Well big thanks to sikyne! I owe you few beers .

New manifold on with a few headaches and some of his perfectionist skills coming to the forefront.

Well did a run to see what car was like as is. Was a bit of a dog with me driving around its issues. Made 46kw at 5300rpm or thereabouts. I thought crap a15 made 47 on twin Su Lpg. different dyno different day blah blah blah.

So spent half the day mounting plenum manifold. sikyne made brackets added head studs on head instead of bolts and stuffed round with cable length and air filter.

Dyno graphs to come when Sikyne sends them but straight out it got 50kw lol. I was still gutted on figure but I figured Cam make improvements later on.

After adding timing and turning idle etc and a fair few runs got 53kw. Main thing was that power and torque curves, leaned out at 4300rpm. Then richened up again. Signed tuning got them pretty much as liniear as they will get.Car feels alive. Crisp throttle except low rpm (that's the gas set up and mixer etc on there currently) bit then.its great.

So much more driveable and responsive.Few things to do like a compression test and better power adjustment valve. And go from there. Gear box still made weird sounds. grrrrr my bug bear

Well pre datnats changed abounded and IM pretty much done, just tidy up a couple if interior things ( kick panels ) and IM done.

Changed front brakes to 4 spot sumi calipers and slotted cross drilled dba solid rotors, yeah I know not vented but better than twin spot solids too.

Changed exhaust manifold to stock one and dodge welded pipe and flanges, tight fit and now only 10mm movement of stem on rubbers. Before could swing rear muffler off rubbers on.hard corners almost.

Also changed Cam to wade 733a with matching lash pads and rockers. Thanks Al.

Also new road tyres , got ex formula fords for track day

but no notable loss of power or torque with stock vs extractors but way quieter and no exhaust leaks, lol.
