Definetly on the right track mate. She's going to be a machine when it's finished. Keep up the good work. With a build like this I don't think you can go too far wrong!

photo makes surge tank look worse than it really is. not much different to the fuel tank except may be hit by rocks from wheel. Its stainless not alloy, but i will see how it goes might have to make up some sort of gaurd for it.

Personally as a standout feature i would have fitted that surge tank up behind the cabin on the tray encased in a polished checker plate casement, you mention not being much different than the fuel tank, not so, your fuel tank has a crash rating meaning it will flex a certain amount on impact in an accident before rupturing, i would not like to be T-boned with that surge tank where it is.

But hey after all is said and done it is your build, and a faaaaaaaaarrrrrrrkin beautiful build it is, it will turn heads wherever it goes

good job

I am in the middle of fitting a silvia cluster into the dash, was wondering if anyone has done this before?
will post some photos up soon
on the passenger side the glove box part has been removed and has an insert for 5 60mmm gauges so, on the drivers side I was either going to put in a perspex plate painted so u cant see where the dash/ cluster dont line up exacly or
a cnc piece of alloy cut to shape

it has the promise of looking like something nice, but with all the exterior and engine work you have done do you really want just "nice" why do you want to cover up instruments when you could pull the cluster out and make some like this

just a thought because it would be a shame to skimp on something you look at everytime you drive it

not really sure i could take that option as dash cap has been altered from previous owner and the cluster setup is far different from the one shown in ur pic. I have been looking around and i cannot find orginal one to replace it and i like the idea of using the cluster that goes standard with motor and gearbox
also to save on dramas with speed tacho heaps of new senders wires ect
