Small update time been driving the y a bit lately taking it to local shows and the occasional drive to work have come up with 2 immediate issues I need to fix.

Firstly is the less than average fuel economy (expected when on E85) but Im basically filling it up every time I drive and getting around 160km to a tank. To rectify this I've finally got around to fitting a flex fuel sensor so can be tuned for 98 on the street and 85 for the track so far have fitted the sensor and started modding the return line to suit. Also have picked up the correct speedflow fittings and plug to wire it up should be done in the next weekend or so then off for another tune.

Second issue is that it's starting to like putting on a smoke show when sitting idle for too long have narrowed it down to valve stem seals or leaky exhaust seal in the turbo. Will get valve stem seals done first then go from there hopefully resolves the issue all though an excuse to upgrade to a gtx2863 would be cool  .

Have also picked up a GL rear tail light infill panel for a bit more JDM street cred should look good and will match the gx dash when I find a gx badge for it :D

Nice update Stu.
How old is the turbo and what kind of Turbo are you running? Can you pick up a second handy to prove it isn't the valve seals?

Turbo is just the standard Z18et one that was rebuilt and high flowed 10+ years ago so probably getting abit long in the tooth. I'll get valve stem seals done first anyway as there cheap and can do without pulling the head off using leak down tester.

That's pretty average economy. Does the MS run 02 closed loop/lean cruise setup? Getting that running on our FJ netted massive economy numbers. We drove it to hanging rock from Mornington and back on half a tank, making it 9-9.5ltr/100km.

No I don't but yeah should look into that on the next tune. We we're pretty rushed doing the initial one before dat nats so probably a few things that need tweaking.

Rear suspension is pretty basic just reverse eye reset springs with koni red shocks. Front is 240k struts converted to coilovers with a T3 kit,275 pound springs,T3 camber tops and koni yellow z31 inserts.

If the smoke gets worse in the future is there a plan for a L20B bottom end or L20B crank in that block?

Compression and leakdown test both point out the bottom end is healthy enough for now. If it ever decides to expire will build what I have or go 2.2 stroker.

Fitted up the infill panel over the weekend happy with the way it looks. Will need to find a gx badge to match the dash once it go's in.
