Post subject:  Datsun 1200 Ute Build

Hello !

I have been building parts whilst body is getting done in shop.
I have joined and created this post to see if anyone has some advice in regards to anything as i am heading into a lot of unknowns.

Build is as follows,
Sr20det VCT
spitfire coil pack
Tomie cams pro comp
Inlet manifold greedy
Inlet manifold honed
exhaust manifold honed
Head port and polished
bosh 1000cc injectors
Top feed fuel rail
Garret GT3076 Gen 2 Vport
Haltec ECU

The target is 440 - 470 HP

Motor is currently stripped down to the head, ready to be put back together late next week.

Body
Mini Tubbed
engine bay seem welded
re enforced radiator mount 30x30 angle
Re enforced bottom radiator mount, square tubing 3mm
3mm plates made to go behind front quarter pannel
50mm square tube that runs next to chassis from front all the way back to the driveshaft loop
inside cage chome molly loop with two bars exiting above rear glass into the tray (dont know where they should be then bolted example over the diff?, past the diff?)

Brakes are 300ZX front and rear drilled and slotted.

Diff R31 borg warner shortened.

Transmission not purchased.

That's where i am basically up to...

find myself thinking will be strong enough to hold the power and how will the leaf suspension will treat me, have taken out the small leaf.

I really dont want to go 4 link at the moment, want to know if anyone has improved the leaf suspension or has any tricks to help with traction?

Hey mate welcome to the forum this sounds like a very impressive build . Is it going to be engineered in NSW? I can’t wait until you get some pictures up
