The blue 180B of Jack Monkhouse on the classic Alpine rally. Footage was on TV. I couldn't find any on YouTube yet. He won even with a broken rear disk. http://www.rallysportmag.com.au/home/ot ... -monkhouse Chevk Jacks Facebook page for photos. |

Finally, some $1.80 action. I'm actually looking for a straight one to buy. Shame the classifieds on this forum appear to be dead. |

The Datsun 610 SSS was a remarkable but understated car: tough as, with good build quality and outstanding reliability. It is virtually impossible to replicate the following these days ... take a "stock showroom" car with the original engine, transmission and suspension: add a roll cage, a sump guard, a set of gas shocks and a couple of decent driving lights and go compete in an international marathon rally against a field including the current world champion, a bunch of Australian national and state champions and several international teams ... having only half the Hp of the factory team cars and most other competitors, finish with more teams behind than in front, and take out an emphatic class win. Thrashed mercilessly for five days straight and never missed a beat. Surprisingly quick!
