Does anyone know if other model Datsun (or other manufacturer) arm rests fit a 1600?

I have a question in relation to this.
Were the arm rests in the back aswell as the front?
I purchased 2 NOS arm rests but now I'm wondering if I need another 2 for the rear.

Ill check for pics.
Yes, oem ones are mounted in the rear doors too.
When i got the gemmy ones i just took a tape measure to my local pick-n-pull wreckers at the time and searched older cars until i found one with arm rests that had similar bolt hole spacing to the mounts already on the 1600 door. There would be others that suit i imagine. Check small cars like mazda 323 and Mitsubishi Colt etc.
Craig (tokyo2u) sells a set every now and then from Japan too. You may want to ask him if looking for genuine ones...

pretty sure i found some on ebay. $95 posted. 160mm across holes

I've asked craig, he usually sells the arm rests as a package with the deluxe door trims (the ones with ash tray and chrome strip)

i like how you matched the colour of your B pillar trims. What paint did you use? just standard primer then clear it?

how do you think colouring the arm rests would go? black against red looks fine as it goes with handle & crank, but black against a light cream is going to look so shite.

Those arm rests were painted with a vinyl paint in a pressure pack. Originally they were a light brown/tan colour and i painted them black. I only did a couple coats but it wore fairly well. I'd do more coats if i did it again so it would wear longer...
The b-pillar trims were painted with a primer and then colour coat. No clear. Cant remember if i used primer on the door trims but i doubt it. Hard bit was finding the right shade of colour and cleaning off the layers of armour-all (silicon) that was on the door trims in particular as this caused the paint to react and not adhere in spots. The pinchweld was factory red...
