Nah Mines got the JDM H150 diff. I chewed 3 teeth off the crown wheel and snapped all but 2 bolts off it. Should have something in there soon though. So anyone going to QR on the 28th?

These are the JCCA B310's... They race quite regularly...

I was referring to the Stanza diffs. I think they came with a H165 and the BW68 (the 68 is for 6.8"). The BW is bigger that the H165 and should be stronger. I certainly found them to be strong enough for some very grunty engines. The Stanza diff assembly is supposed to bolt into the Sunny according to some of the guys on Datsun1200.com

very cool pics. They do look great with those flares.

bloody hell its all happening at once :?

list of things before going topgear racing.

fix chassis (hopefully next week)
wheel alignment (again hopefully next week)
fit new pads (have them here already)
fit new disk (ordered, should be here next week)
rebuild rear calipers - anybody got any r31 rears in good condition for sale ?
make sure front calipers dont need rebuilding (fingers crossed here)
balance tail shaft
buy 2 new tyres or fit old hard tyres or.... **** i dunno what i'm doing with tyres they keep wearing out :(
balance wheels if keeping any existing tyres
replace rear seal in gearbox or fit spare gearbox

short term aim is to get it ready for noosa next weekend,
then fix the issues that affect the high speed stuff for topgear/SAS

Hey Jeff do you want to use my nearly shagged semi slicks on the 14" rims? They are on the car at present but give me 1/2 hour i can have them off.

Hey Luke,

Thanks for the offer, but i have an old set of 15" AO48's that I inherited that I can use if I am desperate.
The only problem with the 888's is the right side ones are old and half shagged, OK for sprints, probably still usable for the big track. I guess i could burn up my Khumo's if i had to as well, would be nice and grippy for 2 laps :)

I might have to try a slightly harder compound tyre for qld raceway as its just destroying the left side ones.
changing wheels all the time is a pain as well, but with swapping from the hill to the circuit it cant be helped.

I wouldn't mind trying some slicks at QR so might have to try to find another set of rims

I got the car back today from the chassis repairer, and dropped it up for a wheel alignment.
so hopefully tomorrow arvo it'll be ready for me to pick up.

I really want to at least get the new front disks & pads on for this weekend if i can.
If you fancy a day at Noosa let me know, unfortunately no its a very early leave, late return and there are no bikini girls :?
on the plus side you will get to meet Len and his datsun

cheers Jeff

Attended our first topgear racing weekend. :D

Saturday Morning Practise
Saturday Afternoon Sprint Racing
Sunday Circuit Race Meeting

Overall I had a great weekend Managed a PB on the sprint circuit and got some great time on the national circuit breaking the 90 second barrier on my first effort at the long circuit.

Learned a couple of things this weekend, brakes cant handle the extra braking required due to higher top speeds now that we have the turbo, but i think that would have been a problem on the national circuit anyway.

Saturday saw continual brake fade and some minor hot spots on the rotors. Ditched the PBR racing fluid and filled her up with motul RF600 ready for sunday. No brake fade on sunday, but severely hot spotted the front rotors, it got the the point where the shudder was so violent that you couldnt brake & turn at the same time, so i had to brake until i was slow enough to corner before i could turn in.

Overall had a great weekend, Qualified 11th out of 16 cars.

Race 1 National Circuit - finished in 6th, this was my first ever race start. Once i settled in a bit manager to pick up quite a few spots.

Race 2 Sportsman Circuit - finished in 3rd position, race finished under red flag due to car off the track at the end of the back straight.

Race 3 - Clubman Circuit - finished 9th - Got swamped coming into the dipper, couldnt brake well, got off line and that was that. By now brake rotors are totally sh*t.

Race 4 - Sprint circuit 7th, the small circuit has so many tight braking spots and not enough straights so really feeling the brake issue.

Race 5 - National Circuit 2nd place Handicap Race had a great run, brakes werent as much of an issue as i could make up lost time on the straights as there are plenty of them on the longer circuit.

Grrrr, my car is ready for some QR action except for wheels, may end up getting some from the US, very frustrating.

Great effort there Jeff!! Makes me want to get the S12 out there for a proper race. Were there any panel bashers out there or was there plenty of racing room shown? That's what is holding me back right now. I have to drive the thing to work on Monday morning and if some yahoo gives my door handles a tickle I will not be happy.

On the other hand I will be at the TA All Nissan QR day next Tuesday (8 July). Sprints, motokana & dyno all in the one afternoon. I shall be a busy boy

aside from a bit of blocking and so on our class was cleanly run.
that being said there were a couple of cars that came together in other classes, the risk that you take i guess.

Yes, I figured the red mist would be involved. To be expected I guess. Even at sprint events I've seen some stupid behaviour (corner diving mostly).

I see Bruce Le Garde in the Honda Civic was in your class. His son shares my car at QR & Lakeside. He's pretty quick for an old bloke that Bruce, when he's not blowing up his gearbox.
