Well i thought a might kick things off in here. If we can get a idea of where everyone is we might be able to get a criuse or meet and greet happening. well here goes

hi, i'm Robert, 26, Sheetmetal fabricator, from gympie. I have had a couple of datsun 1600 before a GSR cordia , then a EA fairmount ghia wagon which was a great car(driftmatic was its nickname).

At the moment i have a SR20 Turbo powered 1600. It has a little panel damage from sliding sideways into a tree(will post pic in other section), but i will get around to fixing that.

My othert car is a '82 Nissan skyline DR30. It was setup for track work be the first owner, but i have never had the time to try it out (and the damn thing spends more time off the road then on).

robert

i was also starting to worry that there were no fellow datsun (1600 especially) lovers in QLD!!!

i'm in the same boat as you graham, in the fact that mine isn't finished,... however my time fram is far longer than yours :P

i shall be posting pics up as they become available to me (basically i'm not going to post any up until they are actually worthy)

she's currently undergoing a full body restoration... should be a few months away form completion.. then we get to the running gear

nonetheless i am well keen to come cruising with you fellas anytime... got a friend with a sunny wagon that has just about been finished being painted in dodge viper yellow, so if u see us around give us a wave (plates 45HZL)

hi all,
mine is just about finished too (something to do with all 1600's).

I race in club events and hit a rock hard in the last event of 2004. as a result, it went something like.... bang, tick tick tick... oops, hole in sump, rapid loss of oil, pressure gause dropping, dirty engine bay.

At the end of the day it still ran, but had to come out for a freshen up. as with all 1600's i guess one thing leads to another.. well the engine was already out... so we striped it back to steel, did some welding, got a cage fitted, repainted the engine bay (after pulling out all the wiring). then sprayed the car last weekend.

THREE MONTHS LATER I AM HANGING FOR A DRIVE>

keeping old school with atmo carby L20

Finally a post in QLD! Huray. I'm on the sunshine coast and drive a L20 powered 200B. Once i get my new bonnet on and straighten my rear quarter due to a slight accident posted under the general section, i'd love to go for some cruises. Seems like all the action is else where?

i see interest is starting to build in Qld. we need to hook up a cruise.

just wanted to share the experience of last night with you all. after 5 months, hundreds of hours, a rew litres of paint, the car is back together...

we put the motor in last weekend, wired during the week, and last night, with a fer buddies, shared the joy of firing a fresh and lumpy L20. (oh the sound)
cant wait for racing next weekend.. willowbank khanacross.
