Gday

Im new to Ozdat. I recently purchased a 1970 datsun 1600 and am considering a full rebuild with an FJ20 conversion. I dont really know what is involved so am probably diving in over my head but as they say ""no pain no gain"

A couple of things:
Can anyone recommend an engineer in the brisbane region. I thought it best t start with them so I can look to build the car as to minimise road blocks for rego.

Also, I know I will need to upgrade breaks. Are there any suspension and break setups from other cars that simply bolt straight into a 1600....such as 200b or 240z etc?

Thanks heaps

B

200b will bolt straight in but i dont think they’ll be big enough for a fj20
You would probably need atleast r31 size front brakes wich can be done by changing the spring perch. Have a look on the Datsport and maddat sites if you haven’t already

Thanks Sutho.

This is exactly why I am looking for an engineer. Need to know what sizes I need before I spend too much $$ on the wrong gear.

Thanks again
